Guidelines
Grants are recommended by the
North County Times Charities Fund,
a fund of the McCormick Foundation, in response to applications from 501(c)(3)
organizations serving lower income people and families in the following primary
interests:
Primary Interests
- Hunger
- Children, Youth, Families, Crisis Intervention and Prevention, Mentoring
- Homelessness
- Literacy
Geographic Priority
Grants are recommended to nonprofit organizations located in communities served by the North County Times Newspaper in North San Diego County and The Californian Newspaper in Southwest Riverside County (The Californian Charities Campaign, part of the North County Times Charities Fund).
Application Procedures
All requests for support require a completed application form to be received by
the North County Times Charities Fund or The Californian Charities Campaign by the
designated deadlines.
The foundation's board of directors meets quarterly and grants are authorized at those meetings and are distributed shortly thereafter. There is no guarantee of annual support.
The McCormick Foundation does not make grants to programs that would financially benefit the Tribune Company or any of its subsidiaries.
