Fox59/CW4 Community Fund
The Community Fund focuses on programs geared toward the positive development of youth. The Fund defines Positive Youth Development as a process which prepares young people, ages thirteen through eighteen, to meet the challenges of adolescents and adulthood through coordinated, progressive series of activities and experiences which help them become socially, morally, emotionally, physically, and cognitively competent. A youth development approach allows organizations, programs, and activities to focus on providing opportunities that develop and enhance youth's capacities and strengths, in contrast to deficit-based models, which focus solely on fixing a problem or preventing a type of behavior.
